Order Lookup

Your AI assistant can look up Shopify orders and give customers updates on their order status, tracking info, and delivery details — right in the chat.

How It Works

  1. A customer asks something like "Where is my order?"
  2. The AI asks for their email (if it doesn't already know who they are)
  3. It finds their recent orders in Shopify
  4. It responds with the order details

What Customers Can Find Out

The AI can tell customers:

  • Order status — whether it's been fulfilled, shipped, or is still being processed
  • Tracking info — tracking number and carrier link
  • Order items — what they ordered and how many
  • Order total — including shipping and taxes
  • Order date — when they placed the order

How Customers Are Identified

For the AI to look up orders, it needs to know who the customer is. This happens when:

  • The customer enters their email in the chat widget
  • The AI asks for their email during the conversation
  • The customer was already identified from a previous visit

Good to Know

  • The AI can access orders from the last 60 days by default
  • Full order history access may be available depending on your Shopify app permissions
  • Orders that have been archived in your Shopify admin won't show up — this is a Shopify limitation
