Instagram

Respond to Instagram Direct Messages from your TrolleyChat inbox.

What You Need

  • A Meta Business Suite account
  • An Instagram Business or Creator account
  • A connected Facebook Page

Setup

  1. Go to Inbox Settings → Channels → Instagram
  2. Click Connect with Meta
  3. Authorize TrolleyChat to access your Instagram account
  4. Select which Instagram account to connect
  5. Click Save

How It Works

When a customer sends you an Instagram DM, the message appears in your TrolleyChat inbox. Your AI assistant can respond automatically, or a team member can reply. The customer sees your response in their Instagram DMs.

Requirements

Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account (not a personal account). If you haven't already, you can switch your account type in Instagram's settings.

Troubleshooting

Messages not arriving

  • Make sure your Instagram account is a Business or Creator type
  • Check that the connection is active in Inbox Settings → Channels → Instagram
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting your Meta account
